The Heal into Life initiative is dedicated to helping you reclaim and recreate your life – to support you as you live with, or step out of, your illness or dis-ease. Yes, it is possible to do both! Be daring and bold! Take control of your life by making the critical decision to heal yourself and learn to live well in the circumstances of your life. Heal into your life!
We all have choices to make in our lives. When we face life altering circumstances that accompany any type of health crisis, we need to take action. Rather than living into whatever diagnosis or condition you are told you have, how about deciding to live fully and make up your mind to heal yourself from whatever issue you face.
Generally our life stories include a measure of our health. Hopefully we are healthy and enjoying the associated freedoms. However, when an illness appears we tend to set out on a quest to find a name for what is bothering us. At times, our health care providers are able to pinpoint the trouble and find remedies that ease our discomfort. Other times, we may find we have extreme discomfort but it presents with vague symptoms which are not easily identifiable or remediable. So we keep searching for answers and diagnosis. People tell me they have visited multiple resources in search of a diagnosis and end up continuing to feel physically ill yet have no name or diagnosis for the problem.
Why is it that we need a name for our illness or dis-ease? Perhaps our quest is to uncover a name for our problem to discover treatments to resolve the illness or at least to ease our dis-ease. So, what if we receive a diagnosis that is chronic, life altering, or life threatening – all of which can be life shattering? In these situations, all that we knew and took for granted about our lives is often no longer the case. What do we do now that we have what we have? Despite our shock and dismay, we have more choices and control than we may think.
Initially we often let our health care providers direct our life, or at least it seems they are directing our life because we spend so much time in their care. At some point, many of us feel that we have had enough of letting others run our lives and we feel like we are ready, maybe even desperate to begin to reclaim our lives. We have many choices to make about how we want to live well in the circumstances of our life. Now it is time to take control and make the decision to Heal into your Life!
